Panasonic Lumix S5 II Mirrorless Camera

Designed for content creators needing strong stills and video performance, the second-generation Panasonic Lumix S5 II Mirrorless Camera is equipped with a host of new features to bring your vision to life. Benefitting from a new sensor design and an updated processing engine with L2 technology, the S5 II is the first Lumix camera to offer Phase Hybrid AF for fast and precise autofocusing performance. Making full use of the 24.2MP sensor and enhanced processor, this camera records 6K video for up to 30 minutes, while unlimited 4K video capture is available as well. Optimized for video, the S5 II is also equipped with a new Active I.S. system, which supports walking shots to further enhance image stabilization while recording video.

New Sensor and Processing Engine

Featuring an upgraded full-frame 24.2MP CMOS sensor and an updated image processing engine with L2 technology, the S5 II incorporates a newly-developed Phase Hybrid AF system with 779 phase-detection points for significantly improved subject tracking. It provides an ISO 100-51200 range (expandable to ISO 50-204800), and enables full-resolution shooting at up to 9 fps (mechanical) or 30 fps (electronic). A High Resolution mode captures and compiles eight exposures into a 96MP image, suitable for tripod use with static subjects.

6K and 4K Video Recording

Full-frame 6K30p recording with 4:2:0 10-bit color is supported for up to 30 minutes, while unlimited DCI/UHD 4K60p 4:2:2 10-bit recording is possible. The S5 II also supports 120p slow-motion capture, RAW HDMI output (via license upgrade), and comes with pre-installed V-Log offering 14+ stops of dynamic range. Dual Native ISO provides both low-noise and high-sensitivity options depending on shooting needs.

Phase Hybrid AF System

The first Lumix camera to adopt Phase Hybrid AF, the S5 II delivers fast, precise autofocus with 779 phase-detection points. It excels at subject tracking in challenging conditions such as low light, backlit environments, and multi-person scenes.

Dual I.S. 2 with Active I.S.

Dual I.S. 2 compensates for up to 6.5 stops of camera shake for sharp handheld photography. The new Active I.S. system enhances stabilization for walking shots during video recording, making handheld footage smoother.

Body Design

Built on the L-Mount system, the S5 II supports a wide range of lenses, including anamorphic optics. It features a 3.68m-dot OLED EVF, a 3.0″ 1.84m-dot free-angle LCD, an 8-direction joystick, and intuitive menus. Connectivity includes USB-C, full-size HDMI-A, 2.5mm remote port, 3.5mm mic and headphone jacks, and dual UHS-II SD card slots. A built-in cooling fan enables extended recording. The magnesium alloy body is dust- and splash-resistant.

Connectivity

Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz) enable wireless image transfer and remote control via the Lumix Sync app for iOS and Android. The camera also supports Lumix Tether for USB remote shooting.
